Part A: Using The Knotline
A1. Who we are
The Knotline (theknotline.co.uk) is run by PCO Holdings [full registered name, e.g. PCO Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 00000000, registered office: full address]. You can contact us at reply@theknotline.co.uk. By using the site you accept these terms.
A2. What The Knotline is, and isn't
The Knotline is a directory that helps couples find wedding suppliers covering their area, and puts them in touch. We don't provide wedding services ourselves.
Any booking you make is an agreement between you and the supplier. We aren't part of it, and we aren't responsible for a supplier's services, prices, availability, quality, or anything that happens between you and them. Please check suppliers carefully, get quotes and terms in writing, and agree everything with them directly before you book.
A3. Information on the site
Suppliers write their own listings, including descriptions, photos and prices. We don't check every detail and can't promise it's accurate, complete or up to date. Guide prices are set by suppliers and are not quotes.
Ratings come from the supplier's page on sites such as Google or Trustpilot. Where a rating is shown on a supplier's page, we have checked that it matched their review page at the time. Ratings can change after we check them, so follow the link to read the reviews yourself.
A4. Enquiries
When you send an enquiry, we pass it to that supplier so they can reply to you directly. Please only send genuine enquiries. Don't send spam, abuse, or anything unlawful. How we handle your details is explained in our privacy policy.
A5. Using the site fairly
Please don't misuse the site. That includes copying or scraping listings in bulk, trying to get into accounts or parts of the site you shouldn't, interfering with how it works, or using it for anything unlawful. We can block access to anyone who does.
A6. Our responsibility to you
We work to keep the site available and accurate, but we provide it as it is and can't promise it will always be available or free from errors.
We aren't responsible for losses caused by a supplier, or for losses that weren't foreseeable when you used the site. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. If you're using the site as a consumer, nothing here affects your legal rights.
A7. Other websites
Listings link to suppliers' own websites, social media and review pages. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them.
A8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies.
Part B: Terms for suppliers
These apply when you list a business on The Knotline, in addition to Part A. They form the agreement between your business and us.
B1. Who can list
Listings are for businesses that provide wedding goods or services. By signing up, you confirm you're acting for a business, and that you're entitled to agree to these terms on its behalf. Because you're signing up as a business, consumer cancellation rights, such as the 14-day cooling-off period, don't apply.
B2. Plans and prices
- Monthly: £20 a month, rolling, until you cancel.
- Annual: £120 a year, paid up front, renewing yearly until you cancel.
[VAT: if PCO Holdings is not VAT registered, replace this with "Prices are the full amount you pay." If it is registered, say whether prices include or exclude VAT, and make the pricing page match.]
Each plan covers one listing in one category. The annual plan also includes a priority position in your category and a Featured badge on your listing. For another listing, including appearing in another category, you need another plan. We may agree extra categories with you separately.
Spotlight. Spotlight is an optional extra that shows one listing as a large card at the top of its category in its area, for a calendar month (UK time). It costs £100 per month. If you book the current month on or after the 16th, that month costs £50. There is one Spotlight place per category, per area, per month, booked first come, first served, up to 12 months ahead, and paid in full when you book. To book Spotlight, your listing must have an active plan. Spotlight doesn't change your position in the normal list below it.
If your plan ends for any reason, your Spotlight ends at the same time, and any Spotlight months you've booked that haven't finished, including the rest of the current month, are forfeited. While you have Spotlight months booked, you can't change that listing's category or move it to another area; contact us if you need to.
B3. Payment
Payments are taken automatically by our payment provider, Stripe, at the start of each month or year until you cancel. If a payment fails, Stripe will try again over the following days and your listing stays live while it does. If the payment still can't be taken, your listing is hidden until your subscription is active again.
B4. Changing plan and cancelling
You can switch plans, update your card, download invoices, or cancel at any time from the billing page in your account.
If you cancel, your listing stays live until the end of the period you've already paid for, then comes down. Nothing further is taken after that.
B5. Refunds
We don't give refunds for the rest of a month or year once it has started, including on the annual plan, or if you cancel part way through. This includes Spotlight months, which aren't refunded once booked, including if they're forfeited because your plan ends. The only exception is if we end your listing without you having broken these terms (see B10), when we refund the unused part of the period you've paid for and any Spotlight months that haven't started.
B6. Price changes
If we change our prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. It takes effect from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then if you don't want to continue.
B7. Your listing
You're responsible for everything in your listing. It must be accurate, honest and lawful. In particular:
- you must only upload photos and text you own or have permission to use
- prices must be a fair guide to what you actually charge
- the rating and review count you enter must match your linked review page, and you must not use fake or paid-for reviews
- your listing must not be misleading, offensive, discriminatory, or promote anything unlawful
- the highlights you choose must be true of your business
- any offer you post must be genuine, and you must honour it for couples who enquire through The Knotline while it is shown. We may remove an offer that breaks these terms
You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to display it on The Knotline, and to use it to promote The Knotline (for example, showing your listing in our own marketing), for as long as you're listed and a reasonable time afterwards to update any marketing that features it.
B8. Areas and categories
Your area is set automatically from your business postcode, and you're listed in the area your business is based in. Your page shows a map of your postcode district, not your address; if you're listed as a venue, it shows your venue's postcode. If you cover other areas as well, contact us: extra areas are added at our discretion. You choose your category, and can change it at any time, except while you have Spotlight months booked (see B2).
B9. Enquiries and couples' personal data
When a couple sends you an enquiry, you receive their name, email address, wedding date and message. From that point you're responsible for their personal data under UK data protection law. You must use it only to respond to their enquiry and provide the services they ask about, keep it secure, and not add them to marketing lists or pass their details on without their permission.
We can't promise any particular number of views, enquiries or bookings.
B10. Pausing or removing a listing
We can pause or remove a listing, or remove particular photos or text, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms, is misleading, or has been the subject of genuine complaints. Where it's practical we'll tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. If we pause a listing for a breach, your subscription continues until you cancel or we end it.
We can end your listing and your subscription:
- immediately, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, in which case no refund is due
- for any other reason, by giving you 30 days' notice by email, in which case we'll refund the unused part of any period you've paid for
B11. Our responsibility to your business
We don't guarantee that the site will always be available, or that you'll receive any particular level of views, enquiries or bookings. We aren't responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect losses. Our total responsibility to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you've paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
B12. Changes to these terms
If we make a significant change to Part B, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with the change, you can cancel before it applies.
B13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
